The Railway Administration has secured the supply of traction power for the following year. Powertica Energie a.s. was selected for the supply through an auction on the PXE commodity exchange and will provide traction energy for the Railway Administration in the next year in the expected volume of 1 219 857 MWh.
"For the seventh time in a row, the Railway Administration has selected the supplier of traction electricity for the carriers in the form of an electronic auction in the PARC application and once again used a variant of commodity purchase where the price is determined by a combination of a fixed price and the price determined on the spot market. With this model, the customer minimizes risk by spreading the risk between the incrementally fixed price, which is the fixed component, combined with spot settlement. The situation on the energy markets calms down, prices fall and the customer gets sufficient room to implement the price fixing thanks to the appropriate timing of the auction." says exchange dealer Jolana Slifková.
