PXE statement on the purchase of energy by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic

PXE has decided to respond to the statement made by the Ministry of Health in its reaction to the article published on 10 October 2018 in Hospodářské noviny.

The ministry states that the late purchase of electricity was primarily due to the process of selecting a commodity exchange and then due to the process of concluding a contract with the broker. The contract for the Ministry of Health was awarded to a competing platform.

Power Exchange Central Europe sent its comprehensive service offer (including the services of a broker) to the Ministry of Health on 2 February 2018 as part of a tender procedure. This offer also included, among other things, a timetable for the entire transaction process, with the deadline for the auction itself set for 12 April 2018. On this date, the Ministry of Health, if using PXE services, was able to purchase electricity. It also included a binding price offer for PXE services, which, according to available information, was more favourable than the price offer of the chosen supplier.
